Christopher Murray is e-Portfolio and Mobile Learning Research Manager at the School of Medicine, University of Leeds. After working as a careers consultant for 8 years Christopher in 2005 began working for the School of Medicine on the Enhancing Learner Progression (ELP) project, piloting and evaluating the use of e-portfolios with a variety of learners at career transition points. The success of this project led to the ELP2 project which investigated the use of Web 2.0 technologies with learners in a variety of contexts and the Reflect 2.0 project which investigated digital storytelling as a method for stimulating reflective learning. Christopher took over responsibility for the School of Medicine’s e-portfolio and in conjunction with MyKnowledgeMap, a UK based technology company, he has developed and launched a new e-portfolio for all medical students to support both informal and formal learning and assessment. He is now also responsible for evaluating the impact of the iPhone project and has led the development of the ‘Learning Suite’ again with MyKnowledgeMap to enable students to access assessments as well as micro-learning opportunities through their devices. He also teaches 1st and 2nd year students on the medical degree and has retained an interest in career learning through the development and management of, iDecide, an on-line career learning resource for medical students. Christopher has presented workshops on mobile learning and e-portfolios at a variety of conferences including, most recently Online Educa, Berlin and MLCB Bremen
