Neurobiology confirms: MicroLearning conveys knowledge in a brain-friendly way

According to Gerhard Roth, MicroLearning provides “brain-friendly learning”. The approach is currently being marketed as Knowledgepulse® version 1.5. Roth recommends that learning content be offered in short intervals of 5 minutes at most – the maximum duration that can be processed in a single chunk by working memory, commonly referred to as “attention span”. Within those 5 minutes, each 30 second break must be followed by a repetition of the learning content.

The next learning session may once again contain 5 minutes of learning content. This pattern can be repeated for up to 30 minutes.

"United Nations Public Service Day 2010": MicroLearning for Public Administration

MicroLearning - learning in small steps - is increasingly appearing on the agenda of international conferences and conventions. Prof. Dr. Peter A. Bruck, CEO & Chief researcher of RSA FG, introduced the MicroLearning approach at the "United Nations Public Service Day 2010" in Barcelona, with a presentation titled "Building up the Knowledge Base for Delivering High Quality Public Service". Bruck's key message: MicroLearning with the KnowledgePulse solves the biggest challenge facing employees in public administration, who are increasingly required to perform knowledge work, instead of routine work.
